1Our approach
Donations to Seva Dham Foundation are voluntary gifts and are normally not refundable, because they are put to work for our programmes quickly and are reported to the Income Tax Department. But we understand mistakes happen, and we will always treat a genuine refund request fairly and quickly.
2When we will refund
- you donated the wrong amount (for example ₹50,000 instead of ₹5,000);
- the same donation was charged twice (a duplicate payment);
- money was debited but the donation failed or you did not receive a receipt;
- the payment was made without your authority (please also report this to your bank immediately);
- a monthly donation continued after you asked us in time to stop it.
Please write to us within 15 days of the transaction. We may still consider later requests in genuine cases, at the Foundation's discretion.
3When a refund is not possible
- after the donation has been reported in Form 10BD or you have used the receipt to claim a tax deduction;
- for donations made in kind (food, books, materials) or for services already received at an event;
- simply because you changed your mind after the 15-day window;
- for amounts already spent on a sponsored item you specifically chose (for example a cow-adoption month or a camp that has taken place).
4How to ask for a refund
Email info@sevadhamfoundation.org (or call +91 91360 03498) with the subject "Refund request" and include:
- your full name and the mobile or email used for the donation;
- date, amount and the payment or transaction ID;
- the receipt number, if you have one;
- a short reason for the refund.
| Step | What happens | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | We acknowledge your request | Within 2 working days |
| 2 | We check it with the payment gateway and bank | Within 5 working days |
| 3 | Approved refund sent to the original account, card or UPI | 7–10 working days (bank timelines may vary) |
For your safety, we refund only to the original payment method. We will never ask for your card number, CVV, OTP or UPI PIN to process a refund.
5Cancelling a monthly donation
You can stop or change a monthly donation at any time, with no reason needed:
- write to info@sevadhamfoundation.org or WhatsApp +91 91360 03498, at least 3 working days before the next debit; or
- cancel the mandate yourself in your UPI app (AutoPay section) or your bank's e-mandate settings.
We confirm cancellation in writing. Donations already made before cancellation stay valid and keep their receipts.
6Your 80G receipt after a refund
When a donation is refunded, its receipt is cancelled and it is left out of (or corrected in) our Form 10BD statement, so no Form 10BE certificate is issued for it. Please do not claim a deduction for a refunded amount.
7Event registrations and programmes
Most of our events are free. Where a contribution is collected for an event that we cancel, we will refund it in full or, if you prefer, treat it as a donation. If an event is postponed, your registration moves to the new date.
