"नर सेवा ही नारायण सेवा, गौ सेवा है मोक्ष का मार्ग — Serving Gau Mata is not just an act of compassion — in our Sanatan tradition, it is the path to liberation itself."
Why Gau Seva is the Heart of Sanatan Dharma
In every Hindu home, in every ancient scripture, in every village of Bharat — Gau Mata holds a sacred place. The cow is not merely an animal in our tradition. She is the embodiment of prosperity, of motherhood, of the divine. The 33 crore devtas are said to reside in her. To serve her is to serve God directly.
Yet today, thousands of cows across India are abandoned on roadsides — injured, starving, hit by vehicles, left to die. As cities expand and traditional farming declines, the sacred bond between humans and Gau Mata has weakened. Many cows roam traffic-filled roads, eat plastic waste, and suffer without shelter or medical care.
Seva Dham Foundation stepped in with one commitment: every cow that comes to us will be rescued, healed, fed and loved. Our Gaushala — a safe, clean, purpose-built shelter — currently cares for 50+ cows. We have an ambulance for cow rescues, an in-house veterinary team, and a dedicated group of seva volunteers who treat every cow as Gau Mata deserves to be treated.
Our Four Pillars of Gau Seva
भोजन — Daily Fodder & Nutrition
Every cow receives fresh green grass (hara chara), bhusa (dry fodder) and a nutritious daily feed. We source high-quality fodder locally and ensure each cow's nutritional needs are met every day.
चिकित्सा — Veterinary Medical Care
Our in-house vet and visiting doctors conduct regular health checkups, treat injuries, wounds, infections and fractures. Emergency surgical care is available. No cow suffers without treatment.
आश्रय — Safe Gaushala Shelter
Our Gaushala is a clean, ventilated, purpose-built shelter with clean flooring, adequate space and proper hygiene. Every cow has a safe, comfortable home — protected from weather, traffic and danger.
संरक्षण — Rescue & Protection
Our cow ambulance is on call 24×7. We respond to reports of injured, sick or abandoned cows on roads and in villages — rescuing, transporting and providing immediate first aid before full shelter intake.
"Mujhe road pe ek gaay ghayal mili thi. Maine Seva Dham ka number dial kiya — 20 minute mein unka ambulance aa gaya. Ussi raat gaay ka operation hua. Aaj woh bilkul theek hai aur Gaushala mein khush hai. Yeh log sachchi mein Gau Mata ki seva karte hain."

Rescue Call Received — Ambulance Dispatched
Anyone can call +91 9136003498 to report an injured or abandoned cow. Our ambulance team responds within 30 minutes — day or night. The cow is stabilised on site and transported safely to our Gaushala.
Immediate Veterinary Assessment
On arrival, our vet examines the cow, assesses injuries, administers first aid, and creates a treatment plan. Serious cases receive surgical care. All cows are dewormed, vaccinated and monitored for 72 hours.
Daily Feeding, Grooming & Love
Each cow receives 2 feeding sessions daily — morning and evening. Volunteers groom, clean and spend time with each animal. A cow that has been abandoned heals not just physically but emotionally when given love.
Lifelong Shelter or Rehoming
Once recovered, some cows are rehomed with trusted, vetted families. Those who cannot be safely rehomed — the elderly, permanently injured, or highly traumatised — live in our Gaushala for the rest of their lives.
गौ सेवा में सहयोग दें — Your Donation, Their Life
आपका छोटा सा योगदान, उनके जीवन का सहारा — Direct from our official Gau Seva donation tiers
गौ सेवा — A Spiritual Act, Not Just Charity
In our Sanatan tradition, caring for cows is described in our shastras as one of the highest forms of punya. Every rupee given to Gau Seva is not just a donation — it is a sacred offering. It returns to the donor manifold — in health, prosperity, and spiritual merit. This is not our claim. This is the teaching of our rishis, our scriptures, and the lived experience of thousands of Gau Seva donors.
When you sponsor fodder for one cow, when you fund a rescue, when you support a veterinary treatment — you are participating in an unbroken tradition of Gau Mata seva that has sustained Indian civilisation for thousands of years. You are honouring your own Sanatan heritage.
Every Rupee is Transparent
Seva Dham Foundation maintains full financial transparency for all donations. All Gau Seva funds are maintained in a dedicated account. Expenditure on fodder, veterinary care, shelter maintenance, staff and ambulance operations is published quarterly. Every donor receives an 80G tax receipt and is eligible for income tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
